Electrician
What is an Electrician?
A tradesperson Electrician is trained and qualified to work within the areas of Electrical/Electronic
equipment and associated services.
Roles of an Electrician
Within South Western Sydney Local Health District the roles are:
- Testing of all electrical, industrial electronic equipment in including residual current devices
- Maintenance, installation and repair of all hospital electrical related fixtures and specialised hospital equipment
All works are to be done in accordance with Australian Standards and/or All relevant codes
Qualifications Required
- A Building Service Corporation License for Electrical Fitter And/or Electrical Mechanic
- Electrical Trades Certificate
- Electrical Craftsmanship Certificate
- Austell Certificate
- Industrial Electronics Certificate
These are formal qualifications obtained Through TAFE courses and experience.
Supervision provided
A comprehensive orientation program is provided for all new staff members with ongoing support.
This is generally provided by the leading hand or supervisor. A qualified and/or licensed Electrician usually require minimum supervision.
