What is a Resident Medical Officer?

The work of the resident medical officer is cooperating and supporting of senior medical staff and administrative personnel.

Roles of a Resident Medical Officer

  • Coordinating and documenting the admission
  • Management and discharge planning of patients within the Unit
  • Day to day assessment and management of the patients
  • Maintaining high levels of communication with patients and family regarding the nature of their condition and its treatment
  • Arranging consultation with other staff when appropriate

Career Opportunities

Resident medical officer’s work involves in communicating with patients and works under the directions of this medical officer and their registrar for all clinical matters. 

Supervision Provided

A comprehensive orientation program is provided for all new staff members with ongoing support.
