FAB Facilitators facilitate nursing undergraduate students during clinical placements. In the clinical setting, a nurse preceptor is allocated to a student and assumes the role of providing support to the student. The FAB facilitator supports both the nurse preceptor and the student throughout the student’s clinical placement, creating opportunities for students to meet their objective/s.
The nurse preceptor’s role is to work with the student to provide them with day to day clinical instruction and experiences. The nurse preceptor also works with the FAB facilitator to complete student assessment requirements relevant to their clinical placement program, guides the student’s professional development and ensures that the student stay within their scope of practice.
