FAB Facilitation - About Us

The Facility Appointed Base (FAB) facilitation service is an internal undergraduate nursing facilitation program exclusive to South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD). The service is part of the Student Placement Services in Education and Organisational Development Service (EODS).

FAB Facilitators facilitate nursing undergraduate students during clinical placements on behalf of ten partnered Education Providers with whom SWSLHD has an Annexure 2 agreement.

SWSLHD currently uses FAB in the following acute facilities:

  • Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital
  • Campbelltown and Camden Hospitals
  • Liverpool  and Campbelltown Mental Health Services

Nursing students in the above facilities may still be facilitated by a University appointed clinical facilitator from time to time.

All clinical facilitators, FAB or University appointed, must meet the verification process as per the current Ministry policy.
