Student Placement Services

Student Day #1 Check-In Process



  • Students are generally instructed to go directly to their allocated ward/department where they will receive orientation from a SWSLHD clinician/employee.
  • SWSLHD staff MUST check the student’s University provided ID against the ClinConnect student details prior to allowing the student access to patient/s.
  • SWSLHD staff MUST check all external facilitator’s employee issued ID against the ClinConnect facilitator details prior to allowing access to patient/s.
  • Where applicable, SWSLHD staff will assist students to access eMR and other Clinical Systems in accordance with current SWSLHD policy directives.

COVID INSTRUCTIONS

  • Having COVID positive patients/clients is not a reason to turn students away.

  • All students attending a clinical placement in a SWSLHD COVID High Risk area MUST be P2/N95 Respirator (Mask) Fit Tested before entering (i.e. before commencing their placement) in the High Risk area.

  • Students must adhere to local protocols for donning and doffing PPE.

  • SWSLHD does not offer P2/N95 Respirator (Mask) Fit Testing to students.

  • These requirements may change with time, please ensure you always check your current local protocols
