In NSW Health, placements are a partnership between the Local Health District and the Education Provider. HETI is not directly involved in the partnership creation or placement negotiation.
In order to organise one or more student placements in NSW Health facilities, an Education Provider needs to approach a health agency to establish a Student Placement Agreement between both parties. Separate Agreements need to be held with each health entity an education provider wishes to partner with for student placements.
Please note: As the placement process is quite complex, Education Providers are responsible for booking and managing placements on a student's behalf. Students must not contact hospitals, facilities or HETI directly looking for placements.b
Once a Student Placement Agreement has been signed, the Education Provider then uses the ClinConnect System, to identify available capacity and make contact to book placements.
Students do not get access to ClinConnect.
