Hospital chapels, meeting rooms and visitor spaces

Some SWSLHD Hospitals have special rooms or spaces that can be accessed by patients, families, friends and Carers.                                         

Bankstown - Lidcombe Hospital

The Paediatric Unit  encourages parents to stay with their children overnight. Access to a parent's lounge and fold-out bedside sofa is available

  A Chapel and Prayer Room is located at entrance of Ward 2G on Level 2 & a separate male & female prayer room is available on Level 3 near Ward 3E
Braeside Hospital The Palliative Care Unit (PCU) allows visitors to stay with their relatives overnight if necessary
  A fold-out bedside sofa is available. A quiet lounge room is available for Carers to use when visiting
Bowral & District Hospital A meeting-kitchen space is available for staff, families & Carers. Speak to hospital reception staff for directions

Camden District Hospital

A Chapel & Meeting Room is available on the Ground Floor in the corridor past the FRESH cafe

A Palliative Care Quiet Room is available for families. Includes kitchen & lunch area, space for counselling

   A lounge area is available on the Lower Ground Floor next to reception on the Palliative Care/Rehabilitation wards
Campbelltown Hospital

The Rotary Lodge provides affordable accommodation for hospital visitors coming from rural areas. Ask a Social Worker or Patient Liaison Officer 4634 3852 for more details on how to book

  A Chapel is available on the Ground Floor corridor, past the cafe on the way to the paediatric ward

The Uncle Ivan Wellington Lounge is available to any Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander patient and their visiting family, friends & Carers.

To access the room, contact the Aboriginal Patient Liaison Officer on 4634 3967 or through hospital reception or Social Worker on the ward

  Information station for Carers and family/staff are available on Level 2, Between Medical A & B Wards
Fairfield Hospital A non-denominational quiet room is available on Level 1, between the High Dependency Unit & Ward 1A
  A Carers Corner is available along the main corridor, near Ward 1B
Liverpool Hospital  A Chapel/Prayer Room is available at the Pastoral Care Centre, located in the Clinical Building, Lift D, level 2 opposite the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) waiting room
  A Carer space is available on level 5 between the aged care wards
  An Aged Care Sensory Retreat space is available on Ward 5A to support patients with delirium, dementia and other cognitive impairments
  The Palliative care ward has kitchen, tea/coffee making facilities. Quiet rooms for family privacy & comfortable chairs for family and carers staying overnight

Hospital Chaplains

All hospitals have regular visits from chaplains & pastoral care workers of major religions who are available to offer support to patients, families, carers, friends & staff regarding spiritual concerns they may have. Please ask the reception staff or nursing unit manager on the ward for their contact details.
