Carer Resources Quick Links

Below are quick links to key organisations that provide support and information available to carers.

Carer Gateway - 1800 422 737

Carers can access support and services via the Carer Gateway. This is a one-stop-shop for carers to find support that will    provide tailored services to meet carer's individual needs and expectations, including:

  •      Carer needs assessment and planning
  •      In-person and phone-based counselling and peer support
  •      Targeted financial support packages with a focus on supporting participation in employment and education
  •      Information and advice
  •      Access to emergency crisis supportv and emergency carer respite
  •      Assistance with navigating relevant, local services available to carers through federal, state and local government      and non-government providers, including the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), My Aged Care and      Palliative Care.

Provides information, education and training, resources and referrals to support carers within New South Wales. 

Onedoor Mental Health Carer Services - 1800 843 539

One Door has a range of services on offer for the families of people with mental illness such as: 

  •      NSW Family & Carer Mental Health Program (FCMHP)
  •      Carer Education Sessions 
  •      Young Carers Support
  •      Mental Health Carer Support Groups

Carers Australia is the national peak body representing Australia’s unpaid carers, advocating on their behalf to influence policies and services at a national level. Carers Australia works to improve the health, wellbeing, resilience and financial security of carers and to ensure that caring is a shared responsibility of family, community and government.
