Cardiac Assesment UnitThe Bowral & District Hospital Cardiac Assessment Unit (CAU) has been serving the community since 1985. The CAU is located in the new Outpatient Centre. The main entrance faces the P2 - 2 hour carpark accessed from Mona Rd. There is additional parking and a rear entrance off the P3 - 2 hour carpark accessed from Ascot Rd. Both carparks have accessible parking and designated patient drop-off and pick-up zones.
SERVICES: Exercise Stress Testing (EST) A medical referral is required which can be faxed or emailed. Referrals should be addressed to Dr Richard Lim Refer to medicare criteria for EST's. Reports are mailed to referring Doctor with copies to Physicians as required
Permanent Pacemaker Clinic (PPM) A medical referral is required which can be faxed or emailed. Referrals should be addressed to Dr Richard Lim or Dr Oliver Gibbs Reports are mailed to referring Doctor with copies to Physicians as required. Implanted Defibrillators (ICDs) are not routinely checked in this clinic.
Cardiac Rehabilitation Program (CRP) Medical clearance to attend CRP is required and a medical referral is also required - can be faxed or emailed. Cardiac conditions and prioritisation - Cardiac Ambulatory Services Referral and Priority Pathway Priority 1 patients only accepted. Program provides individual and group education sessions and support for an 8-week period following a cardiac event. Support Group The Hearts in the Highlands support group meets at the Bowral and District Hospital on the second Tuesday of every second month at 2 pm.
