The CAU was opened in 1985 following fundraising by the local community and the receipt of a grant from NSW Health. The Unit was purpose built for Cardiac Rehabilitation and outpatient Cardiac Assessment Clinics. OPENING HOURS: Monday to Friday 8.00am – 4.00pm SERVICES PROVIDED: EXERCISE STRESS TESTING (EST) Medical referral required
ESTs are supervised and reported by Physicians PERMANENT PACEMAKER CLINIC (PPM) Medical referral required Referrals can be faxed or emailed Clinics are supported by pacemaker company technicians Reports are sent to referring Doctor, copies to Physicians as required Implanted Defibrillators (ICDs) are not routinely checked in CAU CARDIAC REHABILITATION PROGRAM (CRP) Medical clearance to attend CRP is required Referrals can be faxed or emailed Cardiac conditions and prioritisation - Cardiac Ambulatory Services Referral and Priority Pathway Priority 1 patients only accepted Program provides individual and group education sessions and support for an 8-week period following a cardiac event.
