Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT)

Caring for a sick or frail older person can be challenging, but you don’t have to do it alone. Help is available locally for older people living in the Wingecarribee Shire who need additional support with housework, shopping, transport, meal preparation, personal care, respite services or residential respite care.

The Wingecarribee Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) is a specialised group of health professionals including registered nurses, social workers and occupational therapists who can visit you at home or the hospital to discuss your care needs.

The ACAT will provide you with free assistance in determining what kind of care will best meet your and the older person’s needs.

They can then discuss the options with you and if necessary refer you to community groups who provide assistance with community care packages.

They also provide assessments for permanent accommodation in residential aged care facilities.

For more information or to make a referral call 1800 728 968.
