Journal Club

The Journal Club at Liverpool ICU is presented regularly on Fridays at 08:30. It is transmitted online with the participation of Bankstown, Campbelltown, and Fairfield ICUs.

In addition to discussing the most recently published clinical trials in Intensive Care Medicine, the Journal Club revisits the “classics” (previous trials, old and new, that have changed clinical practice).

By critically reappraising these foundational trials, the trainees can gain a greater appreciation of the current state of Intensive Care Medicine while developing a deeper understanding of clinical trial designs, statistics, critical thinking, and the rationale behind the current management of critical conditions.
