Organ & Tissue Donation

South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) is one of nine Metropolitan Area Health Services in New South Wales which form the Network for Organ and Tissue Donation in NSW.  Liverpool Hospital is the tertiary referral centre within SWSLHD and is the hospital most often involved in the donation process.

The Area Organ & Tissue Donation Specialist Nurses (DSN) for SWSLHD have an office located in the Intensive Care Unit (Level 2, New Clinical Building) at Liverpool Hospital and can provide education and resources on all aspects of organ and tissue donation. There is an Area Donation Specialist Nurse on call 24hrs/7 days a week.

Registering to become an organ and tissue donor is easy and only takes 1 minute. Up to 7 lives can be saved by a single organ donor.
