Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct


The $790 million Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct (LHAP) project will provide enhanced facilities and an increased capacity to meet future significant population growth for South Western Sydney. This significant redevelopment of Liverpool Hospital will improve the overall quality of health care and enable a more integrated service, encouraging the participation and partnership of health, research and education providers within the greater Liverpool area.

 

Expected completion: Late 2026

Campbelltown Hospital Redevelopment - Stage 2


The $632 million Stage 2 redevelopment of Campbelltown Hospital began in 2018 and includes the new 12-storey Clinical Services Building, complemented by an extensive refurbishment works program. Bringing world-class healthcare to the community, the redevelopment will meet the needs of the growing Macarthur region. The Clinical Services Building, the centrepiece of the Stage 2 redevelopment, was completed in May 2022 and includes a significantly expanded Emergency Department and a range of key services, including state-of-the-art operating theatres, enhanced Intensive Care Unit, new inpatient units, expanded women’s and children’s services and centrally located mental health services.

 

Expected completion: Late 2023

New Bankstown Hospital


The NSW Government has committed $1.3 billion to build a new, state-of-the-art Bankstown Hospital on a new site within the Bankstown community. The new hospital will provide a range of expanded and integrated health services to help meet the healthcare needs of the growing community. Site options are currently being assessed, with the project due to commence prior to March 2023.

Bowral & District Hospital – Stage 2


An additional $55 million has been committed by the NSW Government for a second stage of redevelopment works at Bowral & District Hospital, following the completion of new Clinical Services Building as part of the $68.7 million Stage 1 redevelopment. Stage 2 early works included delivery of a new Pharmacy and Central Sterilising Services Department (CSSD), along with a new, purpose-built dialysis unit, which was completed in March 2022. Main works are underway including a new Outpatients Centre and a centralised administration/back-of-house services hub. The Outpatients Centre will include allied health services, cardiac assessment, pathology and a suite of medical clinics.

 

Expected completion: 2025
