Neonatal Family Support Program

The Neonatal Family Support Program (NFSP) provides a short term home visiting service to babies discharged home from Liverpool Hospital’s NICU. This service is offered to babies who meet the admission criteria and reside in and around the local area.
The NFSP are available from 8am to 4.30pm weekdays and most weekends. Telephone support is also available during these times.
Specialist trained NICU staff (NFSP) attend to the home visits and monitor baby’s progress during this transitional stage of hospital to home.
The length of time for which we visit depends on the families and baby’s needs. When the baby is ready for discharge from our program, we will refer them to the local Child and Family Health Nursing Service.
