Research and Ethics Office

Information for Participants

The South Western Sydney Local Health District Ethics Committee is covened to protect research participants, facilitate and promote ethical research and review research projects. All research in NSW public health must be approved by a Committee before the study commences.

Committee members explore different kinds of risk and its management in health research. Ethics Committees work with a diverse range of projects and there is no guide sufficiently comprehensive to cover every circumstance that may arise. Each project is judged on its relative merits through discussion by the Committee.

Making a Complaint about the Conduct of a Research Trial

The South Western Sydney Local Health District treats complaints or concerns raised about the conduct of a study seriously.

If you'd like to make a complaint please call the Executive Officer on 8738 8304  or send us an e-mail SWSLHD-Ethics@health.nsw.gov.au to discuss your issues.
