South Western Sydney Hand Centre

Hand Therapy

Hand Therapy is part of a multidisciplinary team that works within the South Western Sydney Hand Centre. Hand Therapists work closely with Hand Surgeons, nurses and other health professionals to provide the best care for patients with hand injuries. Hand Therapy at Fairfield Hospital provides service to the entire South West Sydney Local Health District.

Hand Therapists undergo further training to gain specialised skills and knowledge. The role of the hand therapist is to assess and manage patients following a hand injury or surgery to ensure they regain hand function. We primarily treat acute traumatic hand injuries which includes fractures, tendons, nerve repairs, and infection.
