SWSLHD Quality Awards The Area Palliative Care Volunteer Service won the 2017 SWS LHD Quality Award in the Arts and Health Category for the music program that commenced in the Palliative Care Ward, Liverpool Hospital. The programme has gone from strength to strength with regular volunteer musicians providing a great atmosphere in the ward for patients, carers & staff. Volunteer Vocalist and Dr Jennifer (Wiltshire) Director of Palliative Care Liverpool Hospital. Area Palliative Care Awards 2017 Roman Skarsky (volunteer) won the Volunteers Supporting Palliative Care award during National Palliative Care Week 2017. Roman was acknowledged for the outstanding contribution he made to the quality of life of a young patient in Liverpool Hospital Palliative Care Unit. Annual Volunteer Appreciation Day & Celebrations Volunteers are recognised and celebrated across the local health district by General Managers, palliative care wards/units of each facility, through Volunteer Appreciation Day celebrations, Morning Teas and Christmas lunches.
