 Inpatient UnitThe Children's Ward has been designed to create a safe and friendly environment. The Unit has 12 beds and is staffed by experienced doctors and nurses. Fairfield Hospital has a close relationship with the Children's Hospital at Westmead and have doctors on staff who work at both Fairfield and the Children's Hospital Westmead.

Rest Period: Between 1.00pm - 3.00pm, parents and immediate family only

Paediatric Ambulatory Care Service
The Paediatric Ambulatory Care program assists parents and carers to provide care for their children in the comfort of their own home with the child's doctor and a home visiting service 7 days per week.
Paediatric Outpatient Clinics
Fairfield Hospital has general paediatric acute review clinic (PARC) and specialist paediatric outpatient clinics.
Acute Review Clinic: General medical referral clinic for patients requiring post discharge follow up. Also review of community based patients with chronic or acute illness with a view to avoiding hospitalisation. The clinic is supported by both medical and nursing staff including Consultants, Registers, a Clinical Nurse Consultant, a Clinical Nurse Specials and Registered Nurses
Specialist Clinics include:
Minor Burns: Servicing Fairfield Liverpool and Bankstown ED’s in partnership with CHW. Review and management of minor burns. The clinic is supported by both medical and nursing staff including Consultants, a Clinical Nurse Consultant, a Clinical Nurse Specials and Registered Nurses.
Eczema management: 5 day eczema protocol in partnership with CHW. Acute review and then 5 days of treatment at home with a follow up review post treatment. The clinic is supported by both medical and nursing staff including Consultants, a Clinical Nurse Consultant, a Clinical Nurse Specials and Registered Nurses.
Enteral feeding support: Assist and manage children requiring enteral or supplemental feeding. Intake, weight monitoring, tube management and troubleshooting. The clinic is supported by both medical and nursing staff including Consultants, a Clinical Nurse Consultant, a Clinical Nurse Specials and Registered Nurses.
Neonatal Review Clinic: All neonates discharged from SCN will receive a review at 2 weeks post discharge. This may only require a phone call or a face to face review dependant on the medical requirements post discharge. The clinic is supported by both medical and nursing staff including Consultants, Registers, a Clinical Nurse Consultant, a Clinical Nurse Specials and Registered Nurses.

Special Care Nursery
Fairfield Hospital is equipped with a Special Care Nursery for babies that require close observation or other special attention. Our team of specialised staff provide around the clock individualised care for each of the babies in our Special Care Nursery.
Visiting Hours: 10.00am - 12pm and 7.00pm - 8.00pm
