Welcome to the Liverpool Medical Imaging Department

Radiology is a medical specialty that uses imaging such as x-rays, ultrasound, MRI , Interventional procedures and CT scans to diagnose and treat diseases.

The Radiology department of Liverpool Hospital provides a comprehensive medical imaging service for both hospital inpatients and outpatients through a range of imaging modalities. Over 125,000 inpatients and outpatients imaging examinations are performed  annually.

The department employs a range of multi disciplinary staff to provide the service, which includes staff specialists, Fellow, Radiology Registrars, Radiographers, Nurses, Clerical and PACS/RIS administrator.  The Radiology Department provides the following Inpatient and Outpatient services: Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) Computed Tomography (CT) Interventional procedures Ultrasound General x-rays Fluoroscopy

Interventional procedures include all vascular, neurointerventional, gastrointestinal, biliary and urological interventions as well as therapeutic embolisations for aneurysms and vascular malformations. Image guided biopsies and spinal injections are also performed.

The Liverpool Hospital Radiology Department offers for private and public patients a full range of diagnostic and interventional services for inpatients, outpatients and emergency referrals, using state-of-the-art equipment.
