Welcome to Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital Department of Nuclear Medicine and Ultrasound Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital is located in the city of Bankstown and is a 454 bed principal referral hospital with tertiary affiliations to the Universities of NSW, Sydney and Western Sydney. Nuclear Medicine and Ultrasound is part of the Division of Medical & Clinical Services and operates Monday to Friday for both nuclear medicine and ultrasound and a Saturday inpatient service for ultrasound only. The Department is staffed by approximately 30 health workers including Sonographers, Nuclear Medicine Scientists, Medical Radiation Physicist, Nursing, Clerical and Staff specialists. Nuclear Medicine and ultrasound perform about 28,000 examinations a year, providing both inpatient and outpatient services. A full range of diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine studies are performed. Ultrasound services also provide a wide scope of ultrasound studies including obstetric, musculo-skeletal, vascular and general ultrasound.
