Women’s Health Outpatients provides antenatal care for women residing within the local health district catchment area. We provide women centred care that meets the varied and individual needs for all women and their families with numerous models of antenatal care available.
We are also the referral hospital for women in the South Western Sydney Local health District that require tertiary care for complex pregnancies.
It is recommended that you book into the hospital for antenatal care between 10-12 weeks of pregnancy. Based on your individual needs there are a number of options available for care during your pregnancy. Options for pregnancy care will be discussed and agreed upon at your first booking in visit.

Recommended test results to bring include, FBC, Ferritin, HbEPG, blood group and agglutinins, rubella, varicella, syphilis, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, TSH (thyroid blood test), HIV screening, MSU and a dating ultrasound. You will need to bring a copy of all your results & ultrasound reports.
Regular check-ups in pregnancy are important. These visits to a midwife or doctor make it easier to treat any problems early, so you’re less likely to have complications with pregnancy and birth. It also allows early referral to other services if required.
After the first check-up, the number of visits with your midwife or doctor varies – generally visits occur every four to six weeks at the beginning of the pregnancy and more often later in the pregnancy. At these visits, the midwife or doctor will:

MGP is one of the many models of care available at Liverpool Hospital for eligible women. MGP aims to provide care by a known midwife during pregnancy, birth and in the home after baby is born. The MGP midwife will be on call for labour care, birth, and postnatal care in the home. Eligibility for MGP at Liverpool hospital will be based on availability of midwives, your residing address, and your medical/pregnancy history. Please note to ensure safe and appropriate care is provided, only women who are considered medically low risk are eligible for this midwifery led model of care.

Gynaecological Services
Women’s Health Outpatients also provides services for a range of gynaecological issues including pelvic pain, heavy menstrual bleeding, endometriosis, fibroids, pelvic floor problems, prolapse and infertility. The following gynaecology services are available.
