Research and education
Macarthur Clinical School The Macarthur Clinical School at Campbelltown Hospital is the inaugural clinical school of the University of Western Sydney (UWS) Macarthur Clinical School. The School brings together expert medical teachers and training facilities to create outstanding opportunities for clinical education. Within the School, a Clinical Skills Lab provides a simulated environment where students can participate in a safe learning area before implementing their training in a ward. Clinical skills including resuscitation, venepuncture and cannualtion are practiced using simulation mannequins, while experience in communication and patient examination is developed through the use of video link and a one-way mirror for observation and teaching. A well-equipped, modern Clinical Library supports each student’s education, with administrative staff and clinical tutors providing a warm, friendly atmosphere of learning, reflecting international best practice and supporting students as they progress in their career.
