Feedback on Recent Process ImprovementsFeedback on recent process improvements – 1 July – 1 October 2026Research and Partnerships has recently completed an assessment of the submission and review processes across both the Research Ethics, Governance and Integrity Unit (REGIU) and Research Development Unit. We have identified opportunities that we believe will improve our researchers experience and enable timely processing of incoming requests. As a result, we are trialling the following updated processes and welcome feedback:
CDA/NDA submissions All CDA/NDAs are now to be submitted directly to the REGIU via SWSLHD-Ethics@health.nsw.gov.au (no longer through CTSU). CTRA Amendments Researcher Guidance Documents have been introduced to support consistent review of CTRA Amendments. Grant Submissions An Intention to Submit form is now required for grant applications to support early planning, coordination, and appropriate organisational oversight. The Letter of Support format has been updated to strengthen governance and improve clarity. The process has been simplified, with the removal of certain administrative steps, including brief requirement processes, to reduce duplication and improve turnaround times.
