Welcome to Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital. My name is Paul Crowe, I am the Acting General Manager. My team and I are committed to safety, patient-centred care, communication, teamwork and accountability. These values underpin the goals and development of our health services.
The hospital is one of the major hospitals within South Western Sydney Local Health District, providing a range of services to the residents of the Bankstown region. As a principal referral tertiary hospital, we are committed to providing world-class care to all our patients.
We have embarked on an exciting new phase. The NSW Government has committed $2 billion for a new hospital in the Bankstown CBD to meet the healthcare needs of our diverse and growing community. The new Bankstown Hospital will be located on Chapel Road Bankstown (currently TAFE NSW), close to trains, buses and the new Metro.
The existing hospital site will be used for other health services such as community health.
Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital has achieved and maintained full accreditation status in the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards, Evaluation and Quality Improvement Program (EQuIP). We also have teaching and research links to the University of New South Wales, University of Sydney and Western Sydney University, offering supervised undergraduate placements and encouraging recruitment of motivated new graduates.
The hospital offers great opportunities for professional development and advancement. We foster improvement and innovation, and attract staff who share our values and believe that they can help us achieve our goals.
As a clean hands hospital, Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital is committed to preventing hospital infections. To assist us, we ask that all visitors and staff use hand hygiene gels before entering and leaving the hospital wards and after patient contact.
I look forward to welcoming you to our hospital in the future. If we can help you prepare for your admission to hospital or with any other query, please feel free to contact us on (02) 9722 8000.
