Clinical Trials

A clinical trial is a scientific study, or an organised test of medicines and new treatment options involving patient. Clinical trials confirm whether medicines are safe and effective to introduce as new treatments for a particular disease or condition. You can ask your doctor or your nurse if they know of any clinical trials that you may be eligible to join. You can also search for information on a number of websites and register your interest in taking part in research.

PATIENT RESOURCES – AND MULTI-LINGUAL INFORMATION

Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities are underrepresented in research, impacting their health outcomes. CINSW have released in-language resources to support learning about clinical trials.
These in-language resources include a printable factsheet https://www.cancer.nsw.gov.au/about-cancer/document-library/i-have-cancer-is-a-clinical-trial-an-option-for-me and glossary, and a digital poster.
