Neurosurgery
The Department of Neurosurgery provides and delivers high quality acute and elective neurosurgery services within the policy framework of South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) and NSW Health. Patients are admitted under the care of Neurosurgery from Emergency Departments, Intensive Care Units, or pre or post-operatively before or after undergoing cranial or spinal surgery.
The Department of Neurosurgery offers a 24 hour, 7 days a week on call service. The department is the tertiary referral centre for Neurosurgery for the SWSLHD metropolitan hospitals.
CB5F is a 30 bed Neurosurgical/Plastics inpatient ward that strives to provide excellence in health care that transcends social, cultural and spiritual boundaries and improves health outcomes for patients across SWSLHD.
The ward provides individual care for an array of patients ranging from elective surgical cases to trauma cases which present via Emergency Department and Intensive Care. The department is the tertiary referral centre for Neurosurgery/ Plastics for SWSLHD.
