Hand

HandHand surgery is the special field of medicine that includes the investigation, preservation, and restoration by medical, surgical, and rehabilitative means of all structures of the upper extremity directly affecting the form and function of the hand and wrist.

Hand services in SWSLHD are provided at Fairfield Hospital.

The SWSLHD Hand Centre at Fairfield was established in 2013 when the Department of Hand Surgery was relocated from Liverpool Hospital. The multidisciplinary service provides inpatient and outpatient care to elective and emergency patients.

The Hand Services Outpatients clinics provide medical and therapy sessions to patients who have received, or who are to receive, treatment for hand injuries. The patient population is predominantly ambulant adults.

SWSLHD Hand centre is directly adjacent to the existing Whitlam Joint Replacement Centre on the lower level of Fairfield Hospital.

Hand Centre at Fairfield Hospital can be contacted on 9616 8713.
