Established in July 2014, the Healthy People and Places Unit (HPPU) is a unit of Population Health.
The Unit (HPPU) has four principal functions:
- working with local councils, other state government agencies, communities and developers to plan and develop built environments that promote health;
- conducting research, evaluation and surveillance in population health and promoting an evidence-based approach to population health programs;
- providing specialist strategic, planning, performance and business support to AIDS Program–funded services in South Western Sydney LHD;
- providing the managerial functions for Population Health.
