About Us

Established in July 2014, the Healthy People and Places Unit (HPPU) is a unit of Population Health.

The Unit (HPPU) has four principal functions:

1. working with local councils, other state government agencies, communities and developers to plan and develop built environments that promote health;
2. conducting research, evaluation and surveillance in population health and promoting an evidence-based approach to population health programs;
3. providing specialist strategic, planning, performance and business support to AIDS Program–funded services in South Western Sydney LHD;
4. providing the managerial functions for Population Health.
