Our mission

The Centre for Health Equity Training, Research and Evaluation (CHETRE)’s mission is to “co-create intelligence for better health” in and beyond south western Sydney. We do this with our owners, patrons, supporters and governors. CHETRE has formal relations with the three motherships - University of New South Wales (the Centre for Primary Health Care and Equity), South Western Sydney Local Health District (Division of Population Health) and the Ingham Institute for Applied Medical Research. An essential relationship is continuing with the Tharawal Corporation - CHETRE profoundly aligns itself with the Aboriginal (Health) mantra “Nothing About Us Without Us” - in all its relevant programmes the Centre is accountable to the Tharawal Board and operates within an agreed Data Governance Protocol.

The animated CHETRE logo says it all: we connect, we are part of a diverse and colourful network, and we intend to achieve health equity in our community with our partners.
