When to seek help
You should seek professional help from your doctor and a High Risk Foot Service if you have a foot wound and your foot is:
- Is red, hot or swollen
- Has red "tracks" or lines
- Has an unusual odour
- Is in any way deteriorating
If you are experiencing a medical emergency please call 000. If you have signs of sepsis and have any of the above please present to the closest Emergency Department. Signs of sepsis include: fever/chills, nausea and vomiting, low blood pressure, confusion.
How to seek help from Liverpool HRFS
- You will require a current referral from a Medical Officer or GP
- Urgent referrals may be faxed to the HRFC (Fax: 02 8738 8297) or emailed: SWSLHD-LiverpoolHRFSReferral@health.nsw.gov.au
- Call on 02 8738 8296 to discuss if you need an urgent appointment
- Bring a list of current medications and any x-rays or scans that have been performed
- Wear your most commonly used footwear to the appointment
