Preparing for work
Preparing for Work: facilitating programs during a client's early stages of rehabilitation to improve their readiness for work.
This can be done through
- Group programs - engaging in work-related tasks to improve work fitness, apply cognitive strategies and develop a work routine.
Current group programs include:
- Carpentry workshop program - overseen by a trade qualified carpenter. Projects are modified to suit each client and involve the manufacture of therapy aids and custom furniture.
- Cafe` program- meets weekly to plan menus and cook for customers.
- Gardening group- working together weekly at the Warwick Farm community garden to grow fresh produce
- Assist to access training courses through TAFE and other training providers.
- Individual activities - volunteer work and work experience programs.
