Audiological Assessment

We provide bulk-billed adult audiological assessments, which can involve a range of different types of tests, including pure tone audiometry, tympanometry, acoustic reflex testing, speech audiometry and otoacoustic emission testing.

Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) testing

The Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR), also referred to as the Brainstem Auditory Evoked Potential (BAEP), is a test that allows the clinician to assess whether the hearing (auditory) nerve is working normally.

Vestibular/ Balance Assessment

The clinic specialises in providing balance assessments (otherwise known as Vestibular assessment), which includes a series of tests that determine if the balance organs (also known as vestibular organs) in the inner ear are functioning properly. These services a bulk billed. We use a range of different assessments, including video-nystagmography (VNG), video head impulse test (vHIT), and vestibular evoked myogenic potentials (VEMPs). These assessments involve wearing goggles that house small cameras to observe spontaneous or abnormal eye movement as well as recording reflexes related to our balance system. We can also offer repositioning manoeuvres if specifically requested on referral. Please see patient information for further detail.
