Brainiacs

Brainiacs is an educational and support group for children with a family member who has sustained an acquired brain injury (ABI). It is run by social workers from the Liverpool Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit (BIRU).

It is a one off group that runs for a period of three hours during the school holidays and is for children aged 7-14 years that are related to clients of the Liverpool BIRU. The Liverpool BIRU run the group approximately once a year.

The objective of the group is to educate children about brain injury and the changes that can occur after a family member has a brain injury – presented in a format that is appropriate for children.
