Liverpool - Endoscopy UnitThe Liverpool Hospital Endoscopy Unit is a specialty Endoscopy Unit and is an independent stand-alone unit.

The unit provides admission, recovery and discharge services. The nursing staff are specifically trained in all aspects of Endoscopy nursing and the NSW Endoscopy Information System- ProVation, is used by the medical staff to record all procedures. The Endoscopy unit offers patients a wide variety of endoscopic procedures including:-

  • Diagnostic and therapeutic Gastroscopes

  • Polypectomies

  • Colonoscopies

  • Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and stenting

  • Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) both Radial and Linear

  • Diagnostic Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA)

  • Double Balloon Enteroscopies (DBE)

  • Flexible Sigmoidoscopy

  • Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy (PEG) tube insertion

  • Upper and lower Gastrointestinal (GI) dilation and insertion of stents.

  • The unit also supports Respiratory Medicine by offering Bronchoscopes and Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS) The EBUS provides diagnostic ultrasound guided FNA during Bronchoscopy.
