The Department of Gastroenterology provides inpatient services and regular outpatient clinics that specialise in the assessment and care for patients with gastrointestinal conditions. The department also specialise in Hepatitis A, B and C and complex liver diseases.
A team of medical and nursing staff also offer treatment for inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). This is the largest public referral service in NSW.
The Gastroenterology Department works closely with the Endoscopy suite to perform procedures including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, ERCP, enteroscopy and endoscopic ultrasound.
Digital Referral Pathways to SWSLHD
South Western Sydney Local Health District receives outpatient referrals through
Consultmed, our secure online referral platform. This helps referrals reach the
right service and supports timely review and processing.
Referrals can be submitted in one of three ways
1. For your GP or other Healthcare Provider
Please speak with your GP, specialist, allied health professional or primary care
provider and ask them to submit your referral through Consultmed.

NSW Health staff can submit referrals to SWSLHD services through Consultmed.
