Mental Health / Consultation Liaison

Fairfield Hospital has a full time Mental Health Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC), based in the hospital’s Emergency Department and is part of the Fairfield / Liverpool Mental Health Service.

The CNC provides assessments, advice and support in discussion with the Consultant Psychiatrist who is based at Liverpool Hospital to persons admitted to the general wards and emergency department.

Fairfield / Liverpool Community Mental Health Emergency Team

There are a range of services provided by the South Western Sydney Local Health District to support people and their families experiencing mental health problems.

The intake service provides an initial point of contact for all people within the local area. The team provides mental health triage, risk and mental health assessment for people experiencing a mental health disorder or who are at risk. The intake team provide information about the mental health team as well as referrals to the most appropriate assessment and treatment services.
