Ambulatory Care - Bankstown

The Ambulatory Care Unit at Bankstown Hospital provides three main services:

  • Hospital in the Home - Hospital in the Home refers to the management of patients with acute or subacute conditions who are sufficiently medically stable to be treated as an outpatient or in the home.
  • Acute Assessment clinics - Acute assessment clinics provided in Ambulatory Care Unit are multispecialty and multidisciplinary clinics that provide rapid assessment and initial management of patients who are not critically unwell. Referrals are taken from General Practitioners, external specialists and the Emergency Department.
  • Day Hospital infusions and procedures - Day Hospital provides various infusions and procedures on a day only basis. Patients are usually referred by a specialist or General Practitioners.

Location

Ambulatory Unit is located adjacent to the Emergency Department on Level 2 in Bankstown Hospital.
