FAQ's

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Where is PAHU located?
A: We are located in Campbelltown Hospital on the Lower Ground level, just before the Paediatric Ward.

Q: How does PAHU operate?
A: A family-centred approach is used by our team. This means that we aim to work with your child and family on things that are important in your life. The means that families are equal partners in the therapy process and each person's knowledge, abilities and concerns to contribute to the management and treatment of the client

Q: How much does this service cost?
A: Paediatric Allied Health services are free of charge.

Q: How do I know if my child is eligible?
A: If you are unsure if this service is required or appropriate, speak to a member of the Paediatric Allied Health team on (02) 4634 3580 (reception).

Q: Waiting lists: Do I have to wait to be seen?
A: Each discipline may have a different expected waiting time for therapy. We aim to assess your child soon after your concerns are raised with a therapist, either in the multidisciplinary screening clinic, via phone contact or in a single discipline assessment.

Q: How will therapy happen?
A: Intervention may be done via individual therapy, group therapy and/or consultation with other professionals e.g. teachers, doctors and other therapists. Your therapy package may change over time depending on your child's needs.

Q: What services can I access?
A: Therapy is performed in both the inpatient (Children's Ward & Special Care Nursery) and outpatient setting (Paediatric Allied Health Unit). To read more about any of the below services, click on the link.
