PrEP

Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) is a prevention medication for HIV negative people who are at risk of HIV infection, to reduce their chance of getting HIV; it can be taken every day or on demand.

Liverpool Sexual Health Clinic offers 2 ways of accessing PrEP:

  • Purchase PrEP via the Pharmaceutical Benefit Scheme (PBS) if you have a Medicare Card. We can help you get started on PrEP via the PBS.
  • Other common ways of getting Prep is by seeing a doctor in a medical centre and request a STI check-up and prescription or an online service.
