Camden Hospital today

Camden Hospital has come a long way from its origins as a Cottage Hospital with 12 beds, a matron, a nurse and a maid.

Today Camden Hospital is a specialist centre for aged care and rehabilitation, palliative care, medical outpatients and houses The University Medical Clinics of Camden/Campbelltown (UMCCC) and the Karitane Residential Family Care Unit.

The Hospital has more than 74 beds and treats around 69,000 patients each year.

Camden Hospital operates under a common executive management structure with Campbelltown, a major metropolitan hospital, with services networked across both Hospitals.

Camden and Campbelltown Hospitals provide a diverse range of networked services including intensive care, cardiology, maternity, gynaecology, outpatients, paediatrics, palliative care, respiratory and stroke medicine, surgery and emergency medicine and broad aged care services.

The Hospitals deliver quality health care to the residents of the three local government areas of Wollondilly, Camden and Campbelltown and service one of the most rapidly growing areas of the state.
