Consultations for speech pathologists
We provide consultations for speech pathologists. The aim of this service is to assist speech pathologists with second opinions or advice about treatment in progress, so that clients can continue to be treated by their local speech pathologist. Consultations are available by:

• Phone: Phone the Stuttering Unit on 9780 2788. Phone consultations are currently the most popular type of consultation with the Stuttering Unit.

Continuing Professional Education in Stuttering - CPES

Stuttering Unit staff first presented a workshop on stuttering treatment in 1989. By 1998, this evolved into a CPES program that the Stuttering Unit conducts with the Australian Stuttering Research Centre, University of Technology Sydney and Macquarie University. The CPES Program offers seminars, workshops and training sessions for speech pathologists in Australia and overseas.

Clinical Services
The Stuttering Unit offers assessment and treatment services.

• Eligibility: clients from South Western Sydney Local Health District are eligible for the service. For further information about eligibility for services please contact the Stuttering Unit on 9780 2788 or email.
• Referral process: Parents of children who stutter or clients are welcome to refer, along with referrals from other professionals.
• Costs: covered by Medicare for those who are eligible. For those who do not have Medicare, please contact the Stuttering Unit on 9780 2788 or email to discuss.
• Service delivery options: telehealth or clinic-based services are available.
• Waiting time: Assessments are provided soon after referral. There are waiting times for treatment services.
