Sexual Assault Service (SAS)

quick exitReferrals to the Sexual Assault service come from a wide range of sources including self-referrals, family, ambulance, police, community services, other health services and other government departments. Service is available across the district, including outreach.


Referrals can be accepted for children and young people, adult victims of recent or past sexual assault, non-offending parent/partners and friends and adult survivors of child sexual assault. An Aboriginal Health Worker and Aboriginal Counsellor are available to provide support to our Aboriginal Community. Services are provided to all genders. 

Services provided include: assessment and crisis support, provision of information, ongoing counselling, court preparation and support as well as group work programs. The Sexual assault service provides consultation, training, education and research. A collaborative approach is utilised with government and non-government services.

The Sexual Assault Medical service is provided at Liverpool Hospital during business hours AND after hours. Liverpool Hospital switch number is: (02) 8738 3000.

Mondays: 9:00AM to 4:00PM

Tuesdays: 1:00PM to 4:00PM*

Wednesdays: 9:00AM to 4:00PM

Fridays: 9:00AM to 4:00PM

*Reduced opening hours on Tuesdays

 

KEY UPDATE

From the 8th April 2024 onwards, please contact Liverpool Hospital switchboard on (02) 8738 3000 and ask to speak to a Sexual Assault Counsellor if you have been sexually assaulted in the last 7 days and require a crisis sexual assault forensic medical response.
