Face masks add protection

We are doing everything we can to protect our patients, staff and wider community with community transmission of COVID-19 in south western Sydney.

We have limited visitors and visiting hours at our hospitals and, from 23 July, staff working in clinical areas with direct contact with patients are to wear surgical face masks.

And, we are also asking patients and visitors to our Emergency Department and outpatient clinic areas to follow in our footsteps.

Patients and their loved ones are encouraged to bring their own mask, or one will be provided to them when they enter the Emergency Department and outpatient clinic areas.

Face masks won’t fully prevent the spread of the coronavirus but they are a great addition to practicing good hand hygiene, cough etiquette and ensuring you keep 1.5 metres from another person.
