Frequently Asked Questions

Am I eligible to apply?

To be eligible for the Program you must have completed a bachelor's degree from a recognised University by the time the Program starts in February. You must also be an Australia citizen or permanent resident.

What if I completed my degree some time ago?

Eligibility for the program is based on the completion of a degree; however there is no timeframe for having done so. We are looking for future leaders of the health service though, so it is preferable that your degree completion was fairly recent.

Do I need experience within the Health system or a management position?

The program is designed to introduce graduates to management within the health system, therefore experience in either is not mandatory. The program is not suited to people with extensive management experience as it is a development program for future managers and leaders within the system.

What sort of positions are previous Graduates currently working in?

Directly after graduation from the program most graduates will move into an operational management role, such as a Business Manager or Service Manager. Graduates have gone on to be successful in roles such as General Managers and Directors of Corporate and Financial Services.

What if I need to relocate to Sydney?

Assistance can be provided in finding accommodation in Sydney for your relocation. A number of current and past Graduates have relocated to Sydney to complete the program and if successful we can put you in contact with them to get first hand advice on relocation.

Do I have any choice in my placements?

Graduates will be advised of their first year placements at orientation. Graduates will however be given an option to preference their second year placements throughout the first year.
