Medical Imaging

Fairfield Hospital Medical Imaging strives to provide our community with access to diagnostic and basic interventional services. We are located on Level 2 of the Main Building.
Fairfield Hospital Medical Imaging offers the below services:

  • General X-rays including OPG
  • Fluoroscopy
  • Ultrasound
  • CT
  • Interventional Radiology including joint and spine injections, biopsies, and drainages.

Opening hours

Reception: 
Monday to Friday 7:30am - 5pm
Saturday to Sunday 8am-4:30pm

General X-ray:
Monday to Friday 7:30am - 5pm
Saturday to Sunday 8am-4:30pm

Ultrasound: 
Monday to Friday 9am - 3pm

CT: 
Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm 

Fluoroscopy:
Monday to Friday 9am-3pm

What to bring

Please bring the follow to your appointment.

  • Medicare/DVA card
  • Your original request form from your referrer, regardless of whether we have received a fax or email copy of the form.
  • Prior relevant/comparison imaging examinations performed elsewhere.
  • Recent blood test results (eGFR - kidney function within 3months) if you are having a CT with contrast.
  • A list of your current medications.
  • If you are having a procedure during your visit, please be accompanied by someone to and from hospital  

Preparation

  • General X-rays - Please wear light and comfortable clothing. Jewellery and other metallic items should be removed prior to imaging.
  • Ultrasound and CT - You will be informed of any necessary preparation required when you make your appointment.
  • Interventional Radiology - You will be given specific instructions for your procedure ie. fasting requirements, ceasing of specific medications e.g. blood thinners at the time of booking.

Pathology

The Fairfield Hospital Pathology Department coordinates and performs a range of routine and urgent tests. We work closely with the South Western Area Pathology Service [SWAPS] at Liverpool to ensure we provide a quality service for our patients.
