Automatic Teller Machines

An Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) is located in the Main Foyer on Level 2 (near the main entrance of the Hospital). The ATM accepts a wide range of cards and is available for use by patients, visitors and staff.

Car Parking

Parking is available for visitors and patients in the Northern Car via a ticket-based system. This car park is situated near the hospital's main entrance. As you enter the car park you are required to take a ticket from the boom gate. When you are ready to leave the Hospital you will need to take your ticket to the validation machine in the main foyer of the Hospital. When you exit the car park, insert your validated ticket into the ticket machine on your right hand side and the boom gate will open. Parking is charged at a fee of $6.00 payable upon exit.

Disabled Parking
There are a limited number of disabled parking spaces for people displaying their current Mobility Parking Scheme card in their car. These are located close to the main entrance and emergency department. Not all parking spaces are free i.e. those located within the car park require a fee for parking.

Parking Fines
Parking signs are enforceable. Hospital Security Staff will issue parking infringements to illegally parked vehicles.

Hospital Amenities - Hospital KioskHospital Kiosk

Fairfield Hospital has a small Kiosk located on Level 2 (near the Main Foyer) that sells sandwiches, hot food, fruit, drinks, snacks, cards, small gifts, newspapers and magazines.

Vending machines are located in the Main Foyer, Cafeteria on Level 1, outside the Emergency Department on Level 2 and outside the Antenatal Clinic.


*As of 1st December 2017, sugar sweetened beverages have been removed from Fairfield Hospital as part of the NSW Health led initiative Healthy Food and Drink for Staff and Visitors.

The initiative aims to increase the availability of healthy food and drink options while reducing unhealthy options in cafes, vending machines, kiosks and catering across all health facilities in the State.

No sugary drinks are available at any SWSLHD facilities, however there is still the choice of other healthier options including water, juices with no added sugar, diet drinks, tea, coffee and milk drinks.

The Healthy Food and Drink for Staff and Visitors Framework does not apply to food and drink options provided to patients in hospital and visitors, patients and staff are also free to bring their preferred choice of food and drinks from outside if they wish to.

The health and wellbeing of staff, visitors and our community is priority for the District, which is why we are committed to a healthy food and drink environment.

Internet Access

Hospital Amenities- Internet AccesFairfield Hospital offers Internet Access for your convenience. The internet point is located beneath the stairs opposite Pathology on Level 1.

Pastoral Care

Hospital Amenities- Pastoral CareA non-denominational Quiet Room is available for use by patients, relatives and staff. The Quiet Room is located on Level 1 between the High Dependency Unit and Ward 1A.

Pastoral Care is provided via local community religious groups. For additional support, ask your nurse to contact the representative for your faith.

Public Telephones

There are two (2) Telstra Payphones located on Level 2 - one in the Main Foyer and one outside the Emergency Department. These phones accept Australian coins and pre-paid phone cards. Phone cards can be purchased from the Hospital Kiosk on Level 2 (near the Main Foyer).

Taxi Line

A direct line to the Southern District Radio Cabs Taxi service is located in the waiting room of the Emergency Department for your convenience. This is a free call 24 Hour Service.


Patient televisions are available for hire in most wards of the Hospital. Hospital Television Rental (HTR) staff visit patients to see if they would like to connect to the service.

Patient televisions are operated using the HTR service, which can be set up via the HTR vending machine located in the Hospital Main Foyer on Level 1. Alternatively, a HTR representative is available each morning to assist patients with accessing the HTR service.

Full terms and conditions of the HTR service are displayed at the HTR vending machine and on the television Information Channels.
