About our Directorate:

Healthy Kids and Families offers health services for children aged 0-18 years old and their families.
Services include:

  • Growth and development checks
  • Parenting support
  • Breastfeeding support
  • Early treatment and management

We also offer a service that works in partnership with Aboriginal families from pregnancy to school age.

Our Goal is to make sure families have fair and equal access to care and services in the community.

Our Mission is to provide timely access to early treatment that will support and empower families.

We deliver care from and to community health centres, homes, early childhood clinics, schools, Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations, and other non-government organisations.

Aboriginal Child and Family Health
Support for Aboriginal families from pregnancy to school age that respects culture and traditions

  • Home visits from pregnancy to school age

Child and Family Allied Health
Support for families and children that may be having difficulties with growth and development

  • Speech Pathology
  • Specialist services for stuttering
  • Weight management and support

Child and Family Health Nursing
Support for parents and carers of infants and young children

  • Pregnancy and newborn health checks
  • Blue book checks (up to school age)
  • Breastfeeding support
  • Information on infant feeding, sleep and settling, and adjusting to parenting 
  • Home visiting packages for families
  • Parent education
  • Parenting and family support groups
  • Vision Testing
  • Hearing testing

Community Paediatrics
Support for families raising a child with developmental or behavioural concerns as well as specialised clinics for children at-risk

  • Assessment and diagnosis for children with developmental or behavioural concerns
  • Specialist medical clinics for children that are at-risk

Brighter Beginnings
Health and development check for all 4-year-olds

  • Health and development screening for all 4-year-old children
  • Links to other services to support growth and development

 

To access a child and family health service, you must:

  • Live in south west Sydney (refer to map)
  • Meet the eligibility guidelines

We can support you if:

  • You are having a baby and need help with your pregnancy and after your pregnancy, including Aboriginal families
  • You have a newborn and need information, education, and guidance through the child developmental stages
  • You are raising a child who needs support with their development
  • You are raising a child who needs support with their health and wellbeing

How to Get in Touch:

Child and family health services work from 8:30am – 4:30pm, Monday – Friday.

To make a referral for Child and Family Health Nursing, please contact Triple I. They are open from 7:00am – 10:00pm, 7 days a week.
