Towards Zero Suicides

The Towards Zero Suicides initiative at SWSLHD has two new services for the community of SWSLHD who are experiencing suicidal crisis.  These are:

  • Safe Haven (click here) – A welcoming non-clinical safe space where people experiencing suicidal crisis can go during the weekend and evenings to talk to people who have their own lived experience of suicidal crisis.  People can informally connect with staff over a cup of tea/coffee or whilst playing a game.  Others may wish to just read a book, listen to music or use the massage chair.  Staff will support consumers with safety planning and next steps when they are ready.
  • Suicide Prevention Outreach Team (SPOT) (click here)– A mobile team of compassionate mental health clinicians and peer support workers that can meet you in the comfort of your own home or in the community over the weekend and evenings.
